Awning Fabric for 2021

What is Awning Fabric?

The awning material we use is made from 100% acrylic fibre, a synthetic fibre made up from polymer.

The new year is here, so now more than ever is a great time to plan ahead for hopefully, a lockdown free summer. Many opt to create awnings and parasols in their back gardens to enable a sun free haven. Here at Fabric UK , we have an extensive range of Awning fabrics and Outdoor waterproof fabrics to help with all your garden needs.

Our Awning fabric is stable against UV rays and inclement weather.  The solution dyed acrylic gives the fabric a guaranteed long-term colour fastness ;due to the dyes impregnated into the yarn fibres. Prior to the actual yarn been manufactured, it also has great rot proof qualities, this fabric will reduce heat and block the glare of the sun.

An outdoor awning provides a perfect shade on bright sunny days whilst keeping you cool, makes an added feature to your patio and will act as an extension to your home. Creating  extra valuable space for dining outside on warm evenings or on rainy days with family and friends.

This fabric must be fixed at an angle to increase its water repellence;
the fabric is not 100% water proof and will let water through during heavy rain, or if fixed as a flat sheet.

Is it waterproof?

Awning fabric is NOT 100% waterproof. This has to be made clear straight away as waterproof and water resistant are often confused. In time and torrential rain, some water will start to seep through the fabric. Awning fabric should not be used if you want to protect something completely from the rain, we stock plenty of 100% waterproof fabric for those jobs.

How to maintain you awning material

There is no real specialist cleaning methods to follow when cleaning, just using a standard hose pipe and soapy water will suffice. However for heavy solid areas a special cleaning detergent can be used and a fabric guard waterproofing agent to prolong its water repellent properties.

Commercial Applications: Excellent for creating barriers or extra seating and dining areas for customer along footpaths outside bars, restaurants and cafes can be used for replacing your old damaged or faded awning fabric.
